Greater Tucson Youth Leadership Program
The Greater Tucson Youth Leadership Program (GTYLP) prepares and mobilizes new leaders. This program is open to high school youth entering 9th through 12th grade. In the program, youth develop leadership skills, confidence and the knowledge needed to make positive changes within the community. Youth will learn leadership skills through hands-on activities and by creating their own service object. Youth will get a sense of community involvement through interaction with local community leaders.
Youth Leader Training
Volunteer Southern Arizona offers leadership training to youth ages 11-18. The one-day Youth Leader Training provides middle and high school students with skill building activities and leadership concepts for students to become active leaders in the community.
The Youth Leader Training stems from the nationally recognized Greater Tucson Youth Leadership Program.
During the training, students will develop or improve their leadership skills in the following:
- Public speaking
- Leadership styles
- Leadership etiquette
- Meeting facilitation
- Non-profit governance
